Why do I get this message for old, or large threads?
"No posts exist for this topic"

In short: some messages were deleted from those threads, but you are still trying to view those threads as if all messages were in place. Since they are gone DB has nothing to show you, so it reports an error and you see that nice "No posts exist for this topic" message.

Well put ex. I've tried fixing the internal count, but it doesn't seem to stay. There is really no way that I know of to fix problems like that, sorry man.

If you are referring to the POST YOUR PIC thread you can get around it by clicking on the first page of the thread...then click next page until you get to the end. Unfortunately it is only on page 9 I think. After you go to page 2 you can change the "15" to "120" in the address bar to get to page 9. Otherwise...
page 9 POST YOUR PIC

yeah, this is a result of what happens when people put in a request to have their forum account deleted. it then wipes out the posts frm them and makes a mess. i fixed it once, but havent been able to fix it again.

I noticed that awhile ago Nilla. But it still doesn't get me to the end of the thread. Around page 11 I get the no posts thingy.

the no posts thing is the end of the thread. what happens when you delete an account is it then looses the reference id on the sql database to beable to link back to a person so it shows as a void post. the post count stays the same but for all intents and purposes the posts no longer exist. so its counting "ghost postings" in its page count.

It's not a problem with lost user records. I did a query on topic '617', the ID of the troubled topic and got back 192 rows, then cross-referenced the 'poster_id' field with an ordered listing of all the 'nuke_user' rows - every single poster_id for posts in that topic, match user_ids in the user table. So if it was a deleted user, you would have a poster_id that does not show up in the users table.
So it must be something else.
