Tonight (hopefully) will debut the new <IoW> custom sound pak! Thanks a million to Allagor for all his work remastering all of the sounds. His work has allowed us to add more sounds (there are 263 now ) while cutting the size of the uncompressed pak from 25 MB down to 11 MB (download size 18MB - 8MB)! AMAZING! Not only did he remaster them to make them smaller, he also tweaked volume on some of the harder to hear ones!
The new pak doesn't remove any sounds, but adds 39 new sounds submitted by myself, Sin, Venom and Allagor. There are also a few people who took advantage of the custom greeting sound. In addition to new sounds, there are about a dozen or so from previous sound packs that are making their triumphant return.
So - when you show up to play tonight (and you WILL show up ), be prepared for a brief download and get ready to explore what's new.
Every rank has at least two new sounds. Either entirely new, or reallocated from higher ranks. I gave away some of my level 31 ones to lower levels, so enjoy! The new sound pak will have the following new sounds (don't ask me what they are, you'll just have to experience them yourself!)
Obviously the focus was on bragging and talking shit to the other team after a win
Finding Sounds
With the sheer number of sounds, a simple !listsounds can be a bit overwhelming. There are other commands you can run to find what you're looking for:
!listsoundcats
This is "list sound categories". It creates a list of 22 tags that are applied to each sound.
Spoilers:
Misc
greetings
goodbyes
rage
taunts
win
lose
fail
achievement
insults
class
drugs
self
orders
team
status
wtf
comebacks
pep
gtfo
hax
cranky
weapon
With the output of listsoundcats, you can do things like:
!listsounds greetings
to see sounds tagged for greeting ( !play ohhello, !play v54, !play welcome etc....)
or
!listsounds rage
To see the sounds tagged for rage events (!play rage, !play rage2, !play rage3 ......)
Not only do you see tagged sounds, but you get a brief description of the sound in the output so you can find the one you want, without having to remember what each version of !wewin you are looking for.
You can also see what sounds are available to a given shrubbot level:
!listsounds 1
Shows all sounds specific to players with level 1
!listsounds 10
Shows all sounds specific to level 10
etc....
So when you get a promotion, run that command to see what new sounds you got!
Randomized Sounds by Shrubbot Command
If you just want to play a quick sound and don't care what it is, you can use these shrubbot commands to play them (available to ALL levels).
Rank Levels!
It is important to note that all these commands will factor in your rank level when producing output. So don't expect to see all the rage sounds with !listsounds rage. Only those that you can run will be shown. As for the shrubbot commands (!rage) only those sounds you have access to can be played.
