Why is it that people have trouble renaming themselves with spaces in their name? I hear people complain about that all the time, and see people renamed just "<IoW>" or something like that.

The color codes in names often do not allow the name to fully come up without multiple tries. Unless they have fixed this future in the game, it's been a bug since beta but not serious enough of one that they ever through a fix in. Sometimes you just have to do the name change a few times for it to work. Others, you have to double click or triple click your name in the profile section until the color scheme comes up.

I find the best solution is to change your name with multiple colors in your .cfg file. Seems to stick better then using console. More of a game bug then operator error. Sometimes it just likes to cut the name short.

i figured it out beck.

the game behaves differently depending on if you use "/set name" or just "/name"

if you use "/set name" you can do what you did with no quotes. this works with color codes there or not there.

if you however use "/name", then it will only grab the first word and set your name to that (unless you use quotes)

in my cfg i have it to set name in quotes and it works fine. edit i don't have it in quotes. here is what it looks like in my CFG

set name ^1<^7I^4o^7W^1> ^2Skate^0r^2*^0<^03
