Is it possible to host a wolf server from VMWare or does Open GL not work on VM? Anyone know? I was gonna play around on VM and load wolf to play with configs but it wont let me open the game.

Not sure, did you try to run just the dedicated server? and see if you can join from non-VMware

Server doesn't require a gui at all, so VMWare should be no problem.

I'd recommend to host the server on Linux, as we have encountered quite a few issues with silEnT mod on some versions of Windows.

Gonna give Linux a shot, couldn't get the server to load with VMware. Some type of issue with open GL. Tried to find some work around for it but no luck. Linux should work out great though.

You don't need to actually run the et.exe file for servers. You just run etded.exe from the command prompt and it shouldn't require any OpenGL.

As for linux, I personally run Debian (stable) for my server and have never had any issues. I used to run CentOS, but Debian seems a bit more friendly for game servers (especially since ET is pretty old and requires some older libraries).
