Remember when I said I was getting dizzy playing the mod? Turns out I got used to it and when I went back to pub I got dizzy. So I don't think it was the mod, I think that my eyes/body had gotten so used to pub over the years and maybe I'm just sensitive.

I voted yes to implement it. I personally don't like the developers as they removed one of our favorite features (damagekick) and basically took away the choice for people to choose but with that being said I think its perfect for your guys. Since you were running ETPUB 8 already then this is undoubtedly a massive improvement for you.

I agree that they should have let damagekick at least be a configurable setting - the same with hitboxes, there is no way to configure them in silent.

That being said, personally I like the settings the way they are, but I see your argument about them limiting administrators for making their server different.

They removed damagekick because it is a huge advantage. I will refuse to play on any server that keeps that setting unrestricted.

So far there are still no negative votes! Very Happy

The poll is still open through tomorrow, so if anyone is opposed to the move, now is the last chance to speak up. Otherwise, we will be making the transition early next week.

IoW is Transitioning to silEnT!
Tonight (11/17)

I am going to put silEnT on our server later tonight. Expect the server to go down sometime after 9:00pm!!! I'll make sure to leave the test server running, so everyone can play there while I upload all the files.

Please note that with this transition, everyone is going to lose their admin rank and xp since I am going to start with a clean database. On Friday, I will make sure to give everyone on the server their admin levels back (xp will not be restored)!

Couldn't get ET to load the silEnT mod... I think it is a limitation on our server. I think we will probably have to work with the host for them to support the mod.

I'll look into it a bit more later. For now, the server is back to running etpub.

Thanks Beck!

I was actually going to try emailing him this morning. Anyways, I think the problem is that the text box for the mod line isn't mapping silent to the fs_game cvar, so silent isn't loading properly. I'm hoping that it's as simple as silent just not being recognized in the text field because of how new it is.

Any news on this?
If its not done in time, can we still use ETPub8? or would we be playing on the testing server?

I reverted the server back to etpub last night. We will be playing on our main server tonight.
