If you don't already use headphones to play ET, maybe this will change your mind. If you do, than I'm sure you'll be on the same page as mine. If you don't, listening to this should sure as hell bend you around it.

Virtual Barbershop When you listen to this file, obviously I want you to wear headphones, and it makes this much more sensational if you close your eyes.

My point? That shit's gonna improve your game! It's much easier to hear EXACTLY where footsteps, gunfire and explosions are coming from with headphones. Getting jumps on your opponent is key in ET, and with headphones, you'll be able to prevent more people from sneaking up on you and be able to get an advantage on others.

Try 5.1 speakers. Much better IMO.

Played with headphones and:

1) I get a headache immediately cuz of all those shots and explosions

2) Sound is to close to me. I like when it is all around like when I use 5.1

Headphones FTW! Unless I'm listening to music while I'm playing (which generally fucks me up and end up turning it off), you REALLY can hear much better with them.

imo headphones blow speakers out of the water, no question! Maybe if you had some bad ass surrond sound stereo hooked up to your comp and had it cranked to the max so up it could be comparable. But i have tried with desketop speakers and I always get owned. I also like headphones cause its easier for me to block out distractions ( my fiance ), and I don't disturb her or the neighbors.

Hey quaz man. You just need to get some GOOD headphones. Go out and by Headset that is designed for a computer. So try to pick a USB Headset. You can go out and buy a Microsoft headset for only 30 bucks (Canadian) at Wal-Mart.

I'm not using Headphones for about 4-6 months now. Got really drunk one night and broke the shit out them. Then I bought those Microsoft ones and did the same thing. Now that I don't drink as often, I'm thinking about getting new ones.

Hmm...maybe u're right. When it's really late it's the only time I use headphones and then I plug my MUSIC phones in (Sony MDR-XD200).
