Scripts Make My ET Fail

the title pretty much explains it. i can /exec a script no problem, then either after the first button pressed (incorporated into script) or after a few uses, my ET will freeze up. I will get the classic 'ET.exe has incountered problems and needs to shut down.'

it all started with Karni's shooting script, and thats the first time ive had such a problem.

Any help?

Make sure there are no syntax errors in your script - like +attakc instead of +attack, know what I mean? Could be something like that is f'ing it up.

Did you make a back-up copy of your autoexec file before you started putting new scripts in there? Can you take out your latest scripts and exec it with no problems? Try deleting your etconfig.cfg file from your etpub\profiles\{xxx} directory (where xxx is your profile name).

I was going to say also - you could e-mail the file to someone else (beck@iowclan.com). Sometimes a second pair of eyes can spot errors that you overlook.

i think im just gonna uninstall, then redownload and install. start from scratch, to eliminate outright what may be causing it. im gonna make it "Officially Pimped" with scripts.

Man, I would really try just deleting your etconfig and clearing your autoexec file from all the new stuff and get it work back to where you were before you started writing scripts. Downloading and installing is a bigger pain in the ass then that. Just my two cents.

actually you can \exec etconfig and it should put you back to the defaults as it keeps a copy of that somewhere for the defaults.

and yeah, it happens with everything now. i made a simple recording script to see if it would shut down my ET, and low and behold, it did.

so pretty sure ive got to uninstall, and download ET again, start from scratch
