Yes, ET:L lets you do "/r_wolffog 0" while vanilla ET does not.

The folder structure is the same, it just sits in your Documents folder instead of your Program Files (x86) folder since ET:L is made to work with modern operating systems that restrict write access to crucial system directories like Program Files to programs that have administrator-level privileges.

I don't think the silEnT mod devs are working with the ET:L devs for anything, no.

I don't understand this question. Would you mind rephrasing please?
Also here's my pros for ET:L
Jayd wrote ( View Post): ›
- borderless fullscreen window mode
- fast minimizing
- Raw mouse input support
- proper support for modern operating systems (it has separate install and user data paths)
And I'm not gonna lie, support for "r_wolffog 0" is definitely a big plus for me.
I would imagine for people that go to other servers (lol), the clean command that gets rid of unwanted menu and pk3 files is useful.
I'm sure there's other reasons that I'm forgetting right now but all in all, it's just nice knowing that you're using a program that's still being actively developed. |

For me, after coming back to play ET again after years of not playing, I would get lag spikes that happened every 5 seconds (maybe it was 15, I don't remember). Whatever it was, it was very regular. No messing around with settings fixed it, so I don't know what was causing it. On I think it was Allagor's suggestion, I installed legacy to try it out. The issue was resolved and everything worked beautifully.

i went to legacy after upgrading my CPU to a quad core. Legacy works better with modern hardware, specifically multi core CPU.

Same thing as Nort and Sum1 said, I used to get lag spikes every 5 seconds. Not sure if it was the CPU or video card or both. Legacy fixed it. And able to minimize ET by alt tab.

Yo
Pretty sure that lag every 5s in the old client is somehow punkbuster related, not 100% sure tho.
Just swung by to let you guys know that the server doesn't show up in the default master list, only if you have silentMod loaded, so until I noticed that, I thought you guys were offline
Also: Damn Nort you're getting olllllldddd.

Beck: I thought it was odd the IOW server wasn't in the defautl server list, even though its running silentmod. Old Farts is doing the same and they're right there #1 in the list when I install ET. (Not saying this is good or bad, but if you're looking for more traffic, then I think IOW needs to show up here).
Nort: I'm in the IOW steam group you geriatric old fart

idk how to get it on the master list
Frankly, I like the people we already play with. No need to get a bunch of random pubbers looking for bots
