They were the musicians for numerous successful Motown groups - like The Temptations, The Supremes, etc. They also came out with one or more albums of their own.
They won 3 Grammys and some of their members are in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They have their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Sondra "Blinky" Williams is an American R&B, soul, and gospel singer-songwriter. Blinky Williams, a Motown star of great talent and remarkable voice, was given this Ashford and Simpson tune to debut (Nick Ashford and Val Simpson are doing background vocals) more than 2 years before Diana Ross' release.

I'm going to be busy in the morning so posting for Motown Monday tonight. Let's get the week moving with some Marvin Gaye and James Jamerson (the great bassist of The Funk Brothers), followed by some more information about the history of Motown. Cheers!

The week is just starting and we all probably need a little pick up. Here it is! Motown Monday hits to get you started!
Note: I'm leaving town on Wednesday and will be gone for a week, so I won't be posting to either Motown Monday or Walken Wednesday until I return. Feel free to add your own relevant contributions.
Stevie Wonder with the legendary Funk Brothers can get your week started with some energy and class.

It's not Monday, but I'm adding this short documentary. On Monday I'll add more music.
I'm curious. Does anybody read this thread?

Jimmy Ruffin (May 7, 1936 – November 17, 2014) was an American soul singer, and elder brother of David Ruffin of the Temptations.
He had several hit records between the 1960s and 1980s, the most successful being the Top 10 hits "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" and "Hold On (To My Love)".

Motown Monday is here! Edwin Starr to get the week going with some energy. Cheers!
And an original video from 1969 of Edwin Starr singing his famous song: "War"
Originally written under the Motown label, and first performed by The Temptations, "War" was later re-released as a single with Edwin Starr as vocals. This version is considered a more emotional version and has become the most popular protest song ever.
