Okay - this should be interesting --- we've got the first of a three part map series starting this week. Pretoria, suggested by Venom.

mp_assault had 6 plays.

Only took me about 40 sec to download and I probably have a slower computer than most if not all of you. Just ran around it a bit alone cause I'm cool like that and it looks pretty sick. FPS will definately be an issue for me I could just barely hold 43 without any other players but considering its size it really isnt too bad on fps. I get worse on railgun and fueldump and probably radar too.

Cool pick venom!

EDIT: just to clarify thats 40 sec downloading from the server not the link above.

Same HTTP server either way. Glad you checked it out though, if its a good map (i've seen screenshots, its eye-catching) then it will be worth the download.

Pretoria #1 got 5 plays. I only played it once and with no one else on, but it was actually a damn fine map. I wish we could have had some games on it. It's huge, but wasn't hard to find your way around really. WE should definitely try and play #2 this week!

PrAetoria #2 is really good if we get some numbers. The start of the map you can upgrade your tank which requires each class to stand on a platform for about 5 seconds to perform the upgrade to the tank. Pretty cool. It looks big but its relatively small.

These Praetoria maps are actually damn good. Its a shame people are afraid to play them because they're afraid of being lost for a few minutes.

I think after this week, when we finish part 3 we should have a Preatoria-only night with a map rotation and no voting --- I'm totally serious - just a night of nothing but these three map (hell, make it a wednesday or something, I'll show up for that) and we can really play them and enjoy them because they actually are really good maps IMO.
