I've been getting bad lag spikes lately. I've reformatted twice to try and fix them. But it won't work. What is strange is I don't get the spikes on any other server besides IoW. Any ideas? Keep in mind I've tried many different things, a lot of suggestions I have already tried.

I think someone else lives near Quizzle. If they don't have the same problem you do it's on your end. Try messing with your rates and stuff, make sure you don't go above or below the PB range.

Well thats not quite true. I would think anyways. We have multiple different ISP providers here in Saskatoon. It also would depend on my area because the company I'm with dedicates their cable internet more in some areas. Stuff like that. I'm not saying it's for sure the IoW server. But I have noticed that I don't get the lag spikes anywhere else.

I even have a dozen demos of me being on IoW (lagometer) getting lag spikes. And more demos on different servers around almost the same time (right after logging off of IoW, I would go onto another server to see if I would get lag).

I don't know, I hope it's on my side so I can fix it.

And I've also tried all the rates and tweaks inside the game. They haven't helped. I've checked for almost everything I can think of and read about.
It's just frustrating.

My crap got messed up last night as well Q. Don't know what it was. I had 300 ping on Fuel Dump (last map I played). And shot like 32 percent. I had to /quit and come back 2x and finally I could see.

Make sure you don't have anything else running in Task Manager. Chat programs, xfire, etc. all suck up resources. ET's pretty hungry for an older game.

Might want to run the old tracert to see where the big delay is...

Proof given. It might not be your computer, it might just be the lines your connection would take to connect to IoW server hubs. Somewhere along the journey it might be losing packets.

tracert ftw?
