A C00000005 error is the old Windows "General Protection Fault". It is a fatal error that could be caused by many things.

- Could be memory
- A faulty printer driver (older HP drives are know to cause this)
- A network card
- Your own programming could have:
- memory leaks

I also noticed this line FileName="c:\progra~1\wolfen~1\pb\pbcl.dll"/></Exception>

That is a punkbuster .dll. Make sure PB is up to date as well.

Do you use any firewall software or have you added any new programs recently?

As the baked guy said, have you changed anything around the time you started having this problem?

If its only et, a quicky way to try to fix (after trying to update PB as baked said) is reinstall, could be a bad file. I would update PB first and report back with anything you may have changed around the time this prob started befor doing a reinstall.

Uninstall. Delete all files (you can keep your .cfg files). Delete all things ET. Reinstall. Manually update punkbuster after the re-install.

Luneknight, You should try system restore. That should fix it, if it isn't a hardware issue(which i don't think it is) Have it restore to when you know it worked, say a week or so ago, If it doesn't fix it you can just undo the restoration and try something else. This has solved 99% of my et problems.

HORRIED idea, system restore should be a last hope thing. It tends to fuck up more then it fixs.

So you tried to reinstall?

again 3ed time...

did you do anything prior to this happening, install, uninstall, play with... etc. anything?

Are you playing with Xfire running? If so, turn it off and try to connect.

And this is based on?
And i think you were trying to spell Horrid. I tend to not trust people who can't spell.

eek... the dude who worked all day made a typo lol...

I tend to not trust people who find the need to put "slut" in their name. Twisted Evil

Ya ummm, did a system restore at work, it broke outlook, IE, shopkey, and I think one other thing. By broke I mean I open outlook and it would just crash with an error. And all I was trying to do it get font/desktop back to how it was 2 days before that.

Have used system restores at home... have broke things all the way to windows would not boot.

the way system restore works, is what makes it bad to use.

Ya I've had it work a few times but, I would never use it unless I HAD to, personal preferance.

As for the problem... as baked said it could be memory, you could run memtest 86 + one night just to check, it cant hurt. http://www.memtest.org/ you boot to it so you need a floppy or cd. Just let it run, normaly 12H is a good amount of time. So start it when you go to bed... even 8 works.

I ran it at work and it only took 20 min to have errors...

Note ANY errors are bad... Cant hurt to try that, as I said I would run it 12-24H.
