aw yes it's always done the color thing lol

Same here, but Windows 10. I actually tried Legacy a few times but always had some kind of issue. Regular ET works fine for me, so I didn't feel like wasting my time searching how to fix things that I really don't need to. I just want to open the game and play it.
Yeah, the support for /r_wolffog 0 is cool indeed, that is an awesome feature. The color thing always worked the same way for me in regular ET, I don't think it's a Legacy thing.
Subject: Re: lag spike on some events since ETLegacy
The color thing must be a silEnT thing that got brought over in its entirety to legacy. I remember it didn't used to do that before my hiatus when we were on ETPub. I'm on Windows 7 and Legacy works completely fine for me. I managed to accidentally wipe my config at one point, so that may be why. Allagor, I like the random really low quality textures that showed up one a random few places. I actually had an issue on vanilla ET where I would have lag spikes every 5 seconds or so. Switching to Legacy fixed that.

If you are having this issue like me and sir. can you look at my config and compare our settings please.

I tried last night with a clean autoexec and the problem persisted. I'll be testing with a new profile, no autoexec, next

Winnie uninstalled Legacy and kept her config out of it: No lag. Put the config back: Lag.
Looks like it _is_ something in the config.
Ah, that's probably what it is. Thanks for clearing it up, I knew it didn't do it before!

Same problem here. I run vanilla ET on mac, figured it was just a mac thing. I'll get a 1 sec freeze that pretty much guarantees a firefight loss if I'm in one. It happens with !play, voice announcer, vsays (mostly !play and announcer.) Not really that big of a deal, just a little frustrating :D.

I wish I could remember what setting's I pulled out of myour configuration to resolve my issue. :)
Subject: Re: lag spike on some events since ETLegacy
Winnie, take this and paste it into your cfg.

Haha you found it. Yes r_depthbits was my issue.

Thread resurrection I know but I think I found the root to this issue with my setup.
My computer has 3 drives: 1 SSD for system, 1 WD Blue for games (where my ET:L install sits) and 1 WD Green for the Windows user folder (where the W:ET assets are put by default) 10 days ago I moved all the W:ET assets to the blue drive, replacing the ETLegacy folder with a symlink pointing to the blue drive. I'm not sure if it's the difference of seek times, or if the head gets parked too quick or the drive would go to sleep too fast* but I got to play 2 friday nights now and haven't had that kind of sound lag since. Hope this helps someone! * just read that that can be turned off completely by adjusting the power options in Windows and maybe it's all it was...

Thanks for the very detailed update, much appreciated!
