I'd like to announce that I've just finished upgrading the server to version 0.9.0. Checked it out, things seem to work okay. This is a pre-release version, not generally available. I have it because I donate to the developers.

When you first connect, you will get the silent 0.9.0 client download.

For me - my first connect failed and the menus were all screwed up. If this happens, don't panic, I was able to connect and everythign was peachy after that. If you see this happening, let me know.

There is already a known issue when connecting to 0.8.2 servers AFTER you've connected to an 0.9.0 server.

This is because they have added the ability to create custom load screens and stuff, you can read about it there if you really care. But just note if you play on another server (why would you) and things don't work, that is probably why.

So as I said: this is pre-release, so it could contain bugs. It has some new stuff we are looking forward to taking advantage of, especially in the realm of stats.

Still need to enable some new settings, play with some new commands and configure the stats database. I see people on now, so I assume things are working okay.

Now we can detect the hackers. They will be afk for a few weeks ;)

I don't think its a problem for most of us, when we do play ET its usually on our own server. I don't know if bunker is still kickin, but they may still be running 0.8.2.

I don't think I've played on another server in about 5 years.

ye I haven't played on another server in a long time either so that won't be an issue

I think that the Bunker servers that are running Silent are pretty much dead these days. Or at least nobody from IOW plays on them anymore.
